Maricla Pennesi

Maricla is the present Andersen  European and Italian Tax Coordinator. She has more than 30 years of experience in international taxation and business reorganization, providing assistance to multinational corporations on matters often subject to tax litigation (i.e. PE, TP, etc.). In recent years, she has focused her expertise on the digital economy and risk management including Cooperative Tax Compliance and good governance of tax risks.

Maricla teaches at the most qualified universities, business schools and tax graduate programs and is often invited as a speaker at seminars and meetings for national and international organizations such as SDA Bocconi, UK Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT), and the American Chamber of Commerce.

She is the author of several publications including “La stabile organizzazione. Aspetti critici ed evoluzione sul tema” and “L’abuso del diritto nella fiscalità Internazionale,” both published by Wolters Kluver.

She has also contributed to many technical articles published in domestic and international tax magazines including: Il Sole 24 Ore, Italia Oggi, Finanza e Mercati, Corriere Tributario, Milano Finanza, Tax Analyst, International Tax Review, and others.

Maricla is highly recommended as one of the most reputable international tax experts within the Italian market in the main legal directories such as Chambers Europe and Legal 500.

She won the prestigious international Client Choice Award for several years as the Best Italian Tax advisor within Corporate Tax. At the Legal Community Tax Awards, she was recognized as the Professional of the Year  – Taxation of Restructuring Transactions.
