Sustainable Economy: the European Parliament approves the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)

On November 10, the European Parliament approved the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which obliges large EU companies to regularly publish their information on the societal and environmental impact, planet, and sustainability risks. This should reduce greenwashing and promote international and transparent ESG standards.

The new CSRD will start applying between 2024 and 2028 depending on company size and will involve about 50,000 companies.

The Council adoption and publication in the Official Journal of the European Union is expected by the end of November.
