AmCham presents a policy paper on Industry 4.0

The Research, Development & Innovation Working Group of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy (AmCham), published the second edition of the Policy Paper on Industry 4.0 titled Industry 4.0 and Budget Law 2019. 

The Italian Budget Law 2019 edits the previous program and introduces new fiscal instruments to improve the investments by companies committed with Industry 4.0: tax credit on Education 4.0, hyper-depreciation thresholds, introduction of cloud-computing on IP.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Italy (AmCham) held a meeting with the patronage of the Lombardy Region and University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore to present the Policy Paper entitled The Future of Industry 4.0. The document was drawn up by the Research & Development Working Group, whose members also figures Andersen, and analyzes the new trends and problems of American and Italian companies that have invested in Industry 4.0 technologies.

There are many tax breaks available to companies that make investments in Industry 4.0 and reward those who make constant or increasing investments over time, creating real virtuous circles.

Among the others, hyper-depreciation, that allows a deduction for tax purposes up to 250% of the cost incurred for 4.0 certified new assets purchased during a fiscal year, tax credit for research and development activities, the so-called “Nuova Sabatini”, which facilitates access to the credit of companies supporting investments to buy or lease machinery, equipment, plants, capital goods for productive use and hardware, as well as digital software and technologies. Moreover, startups and innovative SMEs can benefit from additional incentives.
