Ordinance of the Lombardy italian Region: further preventive measures in the workplace

The President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, signed Regional Ordinance no. 546 last May 13.  This ordinance introduces safety measures in all workplaces in Lombardy (e.g. production activities, offices, shops, etc.). The measures will be effective from May 18 until May 31.

Surely the most important measure introduced by the ordinance is that .the employer is obliged to measure the body temperature of the employees both before the access of the worker to the workplace and during working hours if the worker shows symptoms of Covid 19. If the temperature is higher than 37.5°, the worker is  not  allowed to enter or stay in the workplace.

Anyone who violates the measures indicated in the Ordinance will be punished pursuant to article 4 of Decree Law dated March 25, 2020, n. 19.

Therefore, in order to comply with the provisions of the Regional Ordinance, employers whose company is in Lombardy are highly recommended  to prepare, in addition to the provisions of the Protocol attached to the Prime Ministerial Decree of 26 April, a declaration in order to certify  the measurement of the workers’ body temperature, before entering the company or in certain cases afterwards so that to ascertain that it does not exceed 37.5°.
