{"id":31214,"date":"2026-03-09T14:35:30","date_gmt":"2026-03-09T13:35:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/it.andersen.com\/?p=31214"},"modified":"2026-03-09T14:37:18","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T13:37:18","slug":"cbam-the-first-certificate-price-will-be-published-on-7-april-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/it.andersen.com\/en\/cbam-the-first-certificate-price-will-be-published-on-7-april-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"CBAM: the first certificate price will be published on 7 April 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The implementation of the European Union\u2019s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) marks another step towards full operational deployment: <a href=\"https:\/\/taxation-customs.ec.europa.eu\/news\/first-cbam-certificate-price-be-published-7-april-2026-03-06_en\">the European Commission will publish the first CBAM certificate price on 7 April 2026<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For 2026, the price of CBAM certificates will be calculated on a quarterly basis, as the average of the auction clearing prices of allowances within the EU ETS system.<\/p>\n<p>Starting from 2027, the mechanism will become more dynamic: the Commission will calculate a weekly price for CBAM certificates, also based on developments in the EU ETS market, thereby ensuring continuous alignment with the carbon price applied to European producers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Publication schedule for 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>7 April 2026<\/strong> \u2013 price relating to the <strong>1st quarter of 2026<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>6 July 2026<\/strong> \u2013 price relating to the <strong>2nd quarter of 2026<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>5 October 2026<\/strong> \u2013 price relating to the <strong>3rd quarter of 2026<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>4 January 2027<\/strong> \u2013 price relating to the <strong>4th quarter of 2026<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The prices will be published both on the European Commission\u2019s CBAM webpage and in the CBAM Registry, in order to ensure transparency and accessibility for economic operators.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to recall that importers will be required to purchase CBAM certificates starting from February 2027 to cover the embedded emissions of goods imported in 2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The implementation of the European Union\u2019s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) marks another step towards full operational deployment: the European Commission will publish the first CBAM certificate price on 7 April 2026.
