{"id":14622,"date":"2021-07-30T10:50:04","date_gmt":"2021-07-30T08:50:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/it.andersen.com\/?p=14622"},"modified":"2022-09-30T16:00:20","modified_gmt":"2022-09-30T14:00:20","slug":"gems-acquisition-storielibere-podcast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/it.andersen.com\/en\/gems-acquisition-storielibere-podcast\/","title":{"rendered":"Andersen supports GeMS on the acquisition of storielibere.fm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maurispagnol.it\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Gruppo editoriale Mauri Spagnol (GeMS)<\/strong><\/a> has been assisted by a team of tax and legal experts and advisors from Andersen, led by <a href=\"https:\/\/it.andersen.com\/en\/professional\/andrea-de-vecchi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Andrea De Vecchi<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/it.andersen.com\/en\/professional\/francesco-inturri\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Francesco Inturri<\/a>, in the <strong>acquisition of 30% of Storielibere Srl<\/strong>, publishing platform of author podcasts.<\/p>\n<p>Andersen took care of the initial analysis of the start-up&#8217;s business plan, verifying the <strong>sustainability of the business plan<\/strong> and preparing an <strong>accounting, legal and financial due diligence<\/strong>; it then followed all the <strong>contractual<\/strong> issues and the definition of the <strong>new governance structure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The podcast market is always growing. Nielsen data for USOP, United States of Podcast, indicate that in 2020 13.9 million Italians listened to at least one podcast: a +15% compared to 2019 and also a growth in the number of minutes of listening. Research carried out by Aie-Associazione Italiana Editori shows that podcasts are listened to by 70% of young people (18\/34 years old).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>GeMS, named after the two founders of the Longanesi Group, is the second largest Italian publishing group and was established in 2005 as a result of the agreement between two large families of publishers. Today it brings together 20 publishing houses which together have over 1,100 years of history.<\/p>\n<p>Podcasts are not seen as competitors to books: on the contrary, listening to certain content drives bookstore purchases.
